Mobile Offshore Production Units (MOPU)
GPS is a leading supplier of marginal field development solutions provided utilising jack-up mobile offshore production units (MOPU).The group has two leased units in service, another undergoing conversion and plans for a fourth unit.
GPS Leased MOPU business
GPS offers fast track fit-for purpose MOPU's giving operators the opportunity to utilise the MOPU asset in an early production role with GPS providing the turn-key lease-operate design, construction and installation capability,
GPS has to date bought three jack-up units for conversion to MOPUs. Two are in service and the third is undergoing conversion.
The jack-up rig is upgraded and combined with modular process facilities to become a production platform. Designed to expedite first oil production, a MOPU facility can be fast tracked in less than 12 months as compared to the minimum 3 years required for commissioning a conventional platform.
Two units - Maleo and Cendor are currently operating in the Far East, whilst the third unit is undergoing conversion and should be available in 2H07.
